Internships and higher learning
The District hires two Water Monitoring Interns each summer. Preference is given to students who are currently enrolled in college studying in an environmental science field. They assist with water quality monitoring, water analysis, and other activities. Several of these students have gone on to careers that relate directly to their watershed experience.
Students from Bemidji State University, Minnesota State University Moorhead, North Dakota State University, Concordia College, and others have gained valuable hands on experience and provided the district with much needed assistance through the busy summer months.
